Story Spark: Literature and Creative Writing Workshop

(no grammar lessons or ELA)

Dive into the world of stories with our Literature and Writing Workshop! Each week, spark your imagination with grade-level books, lively in-class discussions, and creative writing prompts. Give your young learner a head start on writing with our Little Writers: Mastering Print Handwriting class, specially designed for kids ages 5-7! In this 6-week program, children will develop the foundational skills needed to write clear, legible letters and numbers through fun, hands-on activities tailored to their developmental stage. Perfect for kindergarteners and early elementary students, this class combines fine motor practice with creative learning to make handwriting a joyful experience.

What Kids Will Learn

•  Proper letter formation for uppercase and lowercase print letters (A-Z).

•  How to write numbers 0-9 with correct stroke order.

•  Fine motor skills to improve pencil grip, control, and hand-eye coordination.

•  Pre-writing skills like tracing lines, shapes, and patterns to build confidence.

•  Early literacy connections, such as letter recognition and simple word writing.

No experience needed

Take handwriting to the next level with our Young Scribes: Mastering Advanced Print and Cursive Handwriting class, crafted for kids ages 8-11! This 6-week program builds on basic skills, teaching advanced print techniques, an introduction to cursive writing, and creative expression through calligraphy. Perfect for late elementary students, this class enhances fine motor control, boosts literacy, and prepares kids for school success with engaging, hands-on activities that make writing an art form.

What Kids Will Learn

•  Advanced print handwriting with consistent size, spacing, and alignment.

•  Basic cursive writing, including connecting letters and proper slant (A-Z).

•  Techniques for improving speed, legibility, and personal writing style.

•  Calligraphy basics using a calligraphy pen for decorative lettering.

•  Literacy skills like writing sentences, short paragraphs, and creative stories.
